One From the Collection

There is an album that the majority (read that as all but myself) of the people I know, have never listened to. Make that album and artist.
Terrell's Angry Southern Gentlemen
I first discovered Terrell through the movie Pool Hall Junkies where one of the characters lip sings to "Redneck Gigilo".
This album, if I may say, is the shit, the whole and complete shit.
Perfect for the road trip, the sitting non-trip, hell...it's a great album for anytime. Plenty of blues tainted rock and slow melodic songs that are one step above the ballad.
I must confess that I haven't listened to any other album by Terrell and I'm not sure if I want to...what if the magic isn't there on the others? But that doesn't really matter, does it? Angry Southern Gentlemen is one of my top albums (and I really do mean that).
The obsession started off with "Redneck Gigilo" which is one of the greatest songs, but it was shortly followed by "I Dreamed I Was The Devil" and "Toy Store"(one of the most literary songs I have ever heard-citing Kerouac, Tarzan, Poe, Hitler and Jesus and wrapping it all up with Bob Dylan).
Why do I praise it?
Have you ever discovered something-a song, a movie, hell, a colour- and just thought: Why wasn't this in my life before?
That's Terrell for ya...
If you like bluesy rock with a tiny bit of country and some grand slide guitar, you'll like this one.
Groove on,
your M.C.
